Day of Reckoning

I know in the big scheme of things it seems ridiculous to be terribly sad about loosing my iMac but I am. So, there it is.
It will be weeks of insurance claim paperwork before I can replace her. My blogging is limited to my smart phone, which is really not so smart. Yesterday, in what we are now calling "Revenge of the Computers, Day of Reckoning" my, not-so-smart phone crashed and dumped ALL my contact information. Yes, that sound you hear is me whimpering. I am officially crying "UNCLE" to the spirits of electronic things and cyber gadgets. Is it time for my nap yet?

3 am Madness

I have, make that, had a beautiful glass tabletop I have been using as a computer desk for several years. This morning, at 3:00 am with absolutely no provocation, the entire tabletop shattered into a million pieces. We shot straight up in bed to the sound of glass, the desk and all its contents crashing to the floor, gouging the wood, the furniture and the walls. Piles of glass shards everywhere, still pinging like the sound of a metal spoon on crystal as it continued to crackle and break. Sitting, face down in the middle of mounds of debris?...my iMac...Nooooo! The screen shattered, plugs straining at the outlets. In that split second I saw my "Mac's" life pass before my eyes; all the photos of M's artwork, my blog archives, my library research, family photos, archived emails...to infinity! We're talking history here!! I am praying my back-up hard drive did its job. I am also very grateful I was not sitting, working on the computer with Zen curled up at my feet at 3 am this morning...like I have been known to do! Here's a shot of the madness.
