Meet Guinness and Zen, our Irish Jack Russell Terriers. Yes, Irish, as in, they are a very specific strain/line of Jack Russell Terrier from Ireland.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against
other Jack Russell Terriers, but our guys get lumped together with the other guys, and... as you know, not all breeders are created equal. Our boys are the result of a superior breeding and socialization program developed by Connemara Jack Russell Terriers. Check out their beautiful and informative website
here. Our pups are not hyperactive, they have a very sweet temperament, are super loyal and very, very smart. Their mission in Ireland was to rid the farms and fields of rats. Fortunately, they don't have much "ratting" to do around our place, but oh boy do they like to dig! Hence the nickname "Dirt Dogs" note the dirty, messy face boys above.
Following is a series of photos we affectionately call "Zen Garden" This is our pup Zen and for reasons that become apparent you will see you can take the puppy out of the dirt, but you can't take the dirt out of the grown-up dog...? No, wait...you can take the puppy out of the pot, but....Honestly, he'd carry that flower pot around with him if he had opposable thumbs! Enjoy

To my Connemara family, "Thanks for visiting, I am a newbie to blogging and I would love my Dirt Dog friends to be members of my blog (you have to like food and puppies, oh...and art). I welcome your comments!" Victoria
